Tallman Legislation Honors Fallen Adams County Soldier
HARRISBURG – Legislation authored by state Rep. Will Tallman (R-Adams/Cumberland) that would pay tribute to a member of the military from Cumberland County has passed the House unanimously. House Bill 154 may now be considered by the state Senate.
“
House Bill 154 would designate the Mountain Road bridge over Yellow Breeches Creek in South Middleton Township as the Sgt. Adam C. Schoeller Memorial Bridge,” said Tallman. “I hope my Senate colleagues act quickly on it so we can recognize this fallen soldier for his service to our country.”
Schoeller, who lived in Gardners and graduated from Boiling Springs High School, was deployed with the United States Marine Corps during Operation Enduring Freedom. He is one of 12 Marines to lose his life when a helicopter in which he was a passenger collided with another helicopter off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii, on Jan. 14, 2016.
Tallman is also reaching out to veterans in the 193rd Legislative District with a service he provides each week.
“Every Tuesday, Service Officer Tim Dunn from Pennsylvania Disabled American Veterans visits my Abbottstown district office from 9:30 a.m. to noon,” he added. “He is available to answer individual questions and provide information on programs and services that are available to the men and women who serve and have served our country.”
Anyone wishing to schedule an appointment with Dunn should call Tallman’s district office at (717) 259-7805 or 1-877-480-9525.
