Ortitay Takes Oath of Office for a Second Term
1/3/2017
HARRISBURG — Surrounded by his parents, John and Joann Ortitay, and his wife, Amanda, Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Washington/Allegheny) took the oath of office for his second term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

“It is an honor to be elected to represent the people of the 46th Legislative District for another term,” Ortitay said. “I had two pieces of legislation advance to the Senate for consideration last session, and I remain committed to seeing them become law. In addition, I plan to continue to work to better address the opioid epidemic ravaging the Commonwealth.”

Ortitay’s first bill to pass the House, House Bill 1887, required one toll-free gambling assistance number be used by all Pennsylvania casinos. Currently, four different numbers are used, which can cause confusion and duplication of services. The second bill, House Bill 1915, required the Department of Education to create a central repository of online courses to make it easier for students to participate in online learning opportunities.

Residents seeking more information on these bills or who have any questions or concerns about state government are urged to contact Ortitay’s district office at 300 Old Pond Road, Suite 205A, Bridgeville, in the Abele Business Park. The telephone number is 412-221-5110.

The 46th Legislative District includes Collier and South Fayette townships and Bridgeville, Heidelberg, McDonald and Oakdale boroughs in Allegheny County. It also encompasses Canton, Cecil, Mt. Pleasant, Robinson and Smith townships and Burgettstown, McDonald and Midway boroughs in Washington County.
