Masser: Governor Allows General Assembly’s Latest Budget to Become Law
3/23/2016
HARRISBURG – Rep. Kurt A. Masser (R-Columbia/Montour/Northumberland) made the following statement on Wednesday after Gov. Tom Wolf announced he will allow the General Assembly’s latest budget to become law:

“Thankfully, the governor today finally agreed to allow the General Assembly’s latest budget to become law. It’s been a long nine months, and 267-plus days of the governor’s vetoes to finally get us to today. I am beyond pleased that our school districts, colleges, agriculture, medical and correction communities will finally receive the state funding they deserve.

“As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I can tell you work has already begun on the 2016-17 state budget. We must immediately begin negotiations on next year’s budget plan. We absolutely cannot afford to let this happen again. The people of Pennsylvania deserve better than a nine-month budget impasse. I’m just happy that today the governor had a change of heart today and did the right thing. Now we can move forward with what’s next.”
