Flick to Host Hearing, Press Conference to Highlight Major Support of Child Custody Reform

WHAT:   Rep. Jamie Flick (R-Lycoming/Union) is hosting a milestone day for child custody reform in Pennsylvania. He is leading a Policy Committee hearing and press conference to focus on House Bill 1499, which would ensure fairness in custody determinations and protect the rights of children to have equal access to both parents, provided they are willing and fit.

Flick will be joined by a large group of supporters, including legal experts, family advocates, parents and former lawmakers who are passionate about shared parenting and reforming Pennsylvania’s custody laws

WHO:   Testifiers at the Policy Committee hearing include Teresa Sneed, founder, president and chief executive officer, National Family Justice; Hon. Tony Payton, former member, Pennsylvania House of Representatives; Greg Fellerman, founding partner, Fellerman and Ciarimboli Law; and Hon. Mica Wood Pence, 43rd Circuit judge, Barren and Metcalfe counties in Kentucky.

The Policy Committee hearing will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 9 a.m. Press conference to follow at 1:30 p.m. 

WHERE:   Policy Committee hearing to take place in Room 418, House Republican Caucus Room, State Capitol Harrisburg. Press conference to take place in the Main Capitol Rotunda.
