11/18/2022
HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer/Butler) today announced that Speaker of the House Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) has appointed him to serve as a manager in the forthcoming impeachment trial of Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner.

House Resolution 240 officially impeached Krasner, and the process now advances to the Pennsylvania Senate for impeachment trial proceedings which could result in his removal from office.

“I am honored to have been chosen by the Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve on the committee of managers in the impeachment trial of Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner,” said Bonner. “It is a solemn responsibility to present the evidence in the impeachment proceedings in the Pennsylvania Senate against Mr. Krasner. As a House manager, it is my duty to present the evidence in support of a fair and just outcome regarding the allegations against Mr. Krasner. I am committed to ensuring a just outcome for Mr. Krasner and for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”

The House Speaker is required to appoint a committee of three member, two from the majority party and one from the minority party, to exhibit the articles of impeachment to the Senate and manage the trial on behalf of the House. Cutler also named Reps. Craig Williams (R-Delaware/Chester) and Jared Solomon (D-Philadelphia) to serve on the committee of managers.

“This trial must be transparent and presented at the highest possible standard, something this committee is more than capable of doing,” said Cutler. “These members appointed as managers exemplify the competency and character required in this moment.”

Removal from office requires a two-thirds majority vote of the Senate.
