Farry Named Chairman of Firefighters and Emergency Services Caucus
HARRISBURG – Members of the House Firefighters and Emergency Services Caucus today elected Rep. Frank Farry (R-Bucks) majority chairman of the bipartisan group, which represents more than 200,000 paid and volunteer firefighters and emergency personnel.
Farry has served as volunteer firefighter with the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company since June 1990, and as chief of the organization since January 2001.
“I hope to be a strong voice for our first responders in this new capacity,” Farry said. “As a fire chief in the 142nd District, I understand the daily challenges faced by our fire companies and emergency service organizations. These men and women do so much for our local communities. I will ensure they are given every opportunity to have a voice in the legislative process, especially as it pertains to their safety and success.”
Founded in 1990, the House Firefighters and Emergency Services Caucus provides a direct forum for professionals and volunteers to share their concerns about public safety and educate legislators on issues that impact emergency service personnel.
“I look forward to discussing Pennsylvania’s safety issues and working with these individuals to improve emergency and fire services and protect the people who risk their lives serving our communities,” Farry said.
Farry will lead the more than 50 caucus members in reviewing fire and public safety issues. As chairman, he will be responsible for helping to enact new laws to assist first responders and maximizing public safety.
