House Ag Committee to Hold Public Hearing on Horse Racing Costs of Drug Testing
WHAT: The House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, chaired by Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter), will hold a public hearing on House Bill 1983, which would eliminate a sunset date and continue the status quo for how the costs of racehorse medication testing are paid.

WHO: Causer, members of the committee and the following testifiers: Russell C. Redding, secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture; Russell Williams, president and CEO, Hanover Shoe Farms, and president, United States Trotters Association; Brian Sanfratello, executive secretary, Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association; Kate Demasi, member, Pennsylvania Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association; Heather Hunter, thoroughbred breeder, Chester County; and Todd Mostoller, executive director, Pennsylvania Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association.
