HARRISBURG – Legislation authored by state Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-Franklin), and approved by the General Assembly, would establish a new “DUI Following Diversion” offense for individuals who drive under the influence within 10 years of completing an Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) for a DUI (driving under the influence) offense. House Bill 1615 now goes to the governor’s desk to be signed into law.

HARRISBURG – On Tuesday, House Democrats again blocked consideration of legislation that would prevent biological men from competing in women’s sports. Three bills - the Protect Women’s Sports Act (House Bill 158), the Save Women’s Sport’s Act (Senate Bill 9) and the Dads Defending Daughters Act (House Bill 1849) - have now been referred out of the House Education Committee (additionally, Senate Bill 9 was earlier referred to the House Health Committee) and pushed into the Judiciary Committee without advance communication, but rather under the guise of “new business.”

Robert Leadbeter (R-Columbia) will hold a press conference to provide an update on Aiden’s Law (House Bill 2102), an initiative he is spearheading to create a Purple Alert system in the Commonwealth. Similar to Amber Alert for abducted children, Silver Alert for missing older adults and Green Alert for missing at-risk veterans, the Purple Alert system would rapidly notify the public and law enforcement when an individual with certain cognitive, intellectual or developmental disabilities goes missing.
