HARRISBURG – The House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee Wednesday approved a bill introduced by state Rep. Mark Gillen (R-Berks/Lancaster) that would help raise awareness about a provision in state law aimed at helping veterans acquire civil service jobs in Pennsylvania.
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Kristin Philips-Hill (R-York Township) today joined members of the House Education Committee in unanimously passing House Bill 158, legislation which would give school districts flexibility in addressing days lost to bad weather. The bill may now be taken up by the full House.
HARRISBURG – Rep. Keith J. Greiner (R-Lancaster) today announced that he has introduced legislation that would make the ignition interlock program mandatory for certain first-time DUI offenders and, in those cases where the interlock program is applied, reduce driver’s license suspension requirements.

Mark Keller (R-Perry/Cumberland) today announced that he has been assigned to serve on the following House committees during the 2015-16 legislative session: Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Game and Fisheries, Judiciary, and Transportation. Keller was a member of the same four committees during the previous two sessions.
HARRISBURG – The House Education Committee today in Harrisburg approved a bill introduced by state Rep. Mark Gillen (R-Berks/Lancaster) known as “Eileen’s Law” that would give judges more flexibility in penalizing parents convicted in school truancy cases.

HARRISBURG—A House resolution sponsored by Rep. Thomas Murt (R-Montgomery/Philadelphia) designating Jan. 11 as National Human Traffic Awareness Day in Pennsylvania passed the House unanimously.
