The Legislative Report Program with Rep. Matt Dowling (R- Fayette & Somerset) is now available on the House Republican Radio News Service. Rep. Dowling reports this week directly from Addison, a borough in Somerset County that has been for the most part without water since Wednesday night after a water leak developed in the municipality’s public drinking water system that led to system wide low water pressure and low water in the borough's reservoir. Joining Rep. Dowling from Addison on the program is Mayor Marcy Kalasky, who is in charge of a mostly volunteer effort to deal with this situation and provide bottled water and other supplies to the families in Addison affected by this water system emergency.

Legislation to create Extreme Risk Protection Orders in Pennsylvania that would allow law enforcement and family members to request a court temporarily seize the guns of someone who is a danger to themselves or others was unveiled this week in Harrisburg. House Bill 2227, sponsored by Rep. Todd Stephens (R-Montgomery), was introduced in reaction to recent mass shooting incidents where perpetrators were allowed to purchase or have access to firearms despite exhibiting signs of emotional or mental health problems. The bill has support from gun reform advocacy groups and the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association. Rep. Stephens offered the following comments at the press conference.
