HARRISBURG – Noting substantial investor losses of those private funds invested in Russia and Belarus following the invasion of Ukraine, Rep. Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford) said he will soon introduce legislation requiring an examination of geopolitical risk be conducted as part of the investment analysis when the state Treasury or Pennsylvania’s public pension funds invest in the financial assets in foreign countries.

HARRISBURG – Rep. Parke Wentling (R-Mercer) announced today that two Mercer County nonprofits will receive $22,000 through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). The Community Action Partnership of Mercer County will receive $13,750, which will support 155 lots that need attention through implementing community gardens, an art installation, a flower garden and a memorial park. The Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County will receive $8,250 which will cover food, warehouses expenses, and costs associated with food distribution.

HARRISBURG – Rep. Tom Mehaffie (R-Dauphin) announced the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) has awarded $4,000 to the Hershey History Center, $17,668 to the AACA Museum Inc. and $23,904 to the Hershey Story Museum. This funding has been awarded through PHMC’s Cultural and Historical Grant Program. The program provides general operating support to Pennsylvania museums and historical societies not directly supported by other state programs.

HARRISBURG – The Fiscal Code bill signed into law this week by Gov. Josh Shapiro includes an enhancement of Pennsylvania’s Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit, an issue that Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh) has been advocating for since the introduction of his legislation on this topic back in February. The Fiscal Code is budget-related legislation that directs how state funding is to be spent.
