HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court today conducted a hearing on a lawsuit filed by South Fayette and Collier townships and Bridgeville Borough against PennDOT to halt its plans to include the I-79 bridge near the Bridgeville exit on its list of nine bridges throughout the Commonwealth that will be tolled under the public-private partnership (P3) bridge program, said Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Washington/Allegheny).

Commonwealth Court Issues Preliminary Injunction to Halt PennDOT’s I-83 Bridge Tolling Plan

Today, Commonwealth Court Judge Ellen Ceisler issued a preliminary injunction against PennDOT to halt proposed work on its plan to toll nine bridges throughout the Commonwealth, including the I-83 bridge. This means PennDOT cannot currently proceed with its proposal until the full court can render a decision. This is great news for our communities in the 88th District, which would be severely impacted by this misguided tolling plan.
