HARRISBURG –State Rep. Barry Jozwiak (R-Berks) today issued the following statement after he and a majority of his House colleagues approved a partial state budget bill that would provide the same amount of funding for schools, colleges and universitiesas they received this year, while providing five months of funding for most other state government programs and services:

HARRISBURG – Bipartisan legislation co-sponsored by Reps. Tarah Toohil (R-Luzerne) and Mike Schlossberg (D-Lehigh)that would offer state assistance to Pennsylvania mothers struggling with postpartum depression and their babies today was advanced by the House Children and Youth Committee in a unanimous vote. House Bill 1270 now moves to the full House for consideration.

Gifford Pinchot’s mandate to make liquor sales “as inconvenient and expensive as possible” by creating the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) issued the following statement supporting legislation introduced by Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) to end Pennsylvania’s antiquated and failing state store system.

HARRISBURG - Rep. Frank Ryan (R-Lebanon) voted Tuesday in favor of a short-term state budget bill that will fund the Commonwealth into November, allowing lawmakers time to assess the fiscal realities of the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting statewide shutdown. After revenue figures are in this fall, lawmakers will work on another short-term plan to fund the balance of the fiscal year.

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne) joined his House colleagues in supporting a five-month, short-term budget which would fully fund basic and higher education for the 2020-21 school year and necessary health and human services programs.
