Metzgar Dedicates Somerset County Bridge in Honor of Local Vietnam War Hero

JENNER TOWNSHIP – To pay respects to Somerset County’s fallen heroes, Rep. Carl Walker Metzgar (R-Somerset) was accompanied by family members of Private First Class (PFC) Paul A. Gilbert and the community for a bridge dedication ceremony today in Jenner Township. Gilbert, a Gray native, was killed in action on Feb. 19, 1966, in Vietnam.

WHAT: U.S. Army Col. Daniel “Larry” Rubini will be remembered with a ceremony to dedicate the Worthington Mill Road Bridge over the Neshaminy Creek in his honor. His military career spanned 32 years, during which he served with distinction as a staff judge advocate to several brigades and deployed in key missions including Operation Desert Shield/Storm in the Middle East and Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti.
