HAZLETON – After attending Thursday’s public hearing regarding White Haven Center (WHC) conducted by the Department of Human Services (DHS), Reps. Tarah Toohil (R-Luzerne) and Doyle Heffley (R-Carbon) announced they are working with the chairman of the House Human Services Committee, Rep. Gene DiGirolamo (R-Bucks), to hold an urgent meeting regarding the pending closure of the facility for the physically and mentally challenged.

Klunk to Host Free Shredding, ID Theft Prevention Event in Hanover on Sept. 28

Shawnee Lake Being Drawn Down for Park Maintenance, Metzgar Says

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) today announced that the lake at Shawnee State Park in Bedford County will experience low water levels beginning Monday, Sept. 16. The lake will be lowered by approximately 5 feet for repairs and improvements at the swimming beach, as well as repairs to the dry hydrant at the Diehl Boat Launch.
