HARRISBURG – Rep. David Maloney (R-Berks) today voted to pass a 2019-20 state budget that saves for the future, will train Pennsylvanians for well-paying skilled jobs that have been created due to federal tax cuts and federal pro-growth policies and protects those in our communities who need help.

Maloney issued the following statement:

“We have dedicated $10 million to career and technical education and equipment and boosted funding for many of our technical schools to fill the many manufacturing jobs across the state and a basic demand for skilled workers in multiple fields. We put an additional $26.3 million for mental health services, $84.8 million in home care for folks with intellectual disabilities and $12 million more for seniors and those with physical disabilities.

“Without raising taxes, this budget makes significant investments career and technical education, which has always been a big concern of mine, and does more to help our most vulnerable. As a Commonwealth, we ought to help those in our community who can't help themselves when we have the means to do so, and the current national economy allows us to do that.”
