WHAT: Rep. Gene DiGirolamo (R-Bucks) will lead a rally of several hundred advocates who oppose the governor’s proposal to merge the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) into a larger Department of Health and Human Services. The rally will follow a public hearing of the Human Services, Health, and Aging and Older Adult Services committees in which the agency secretaries will testify before members of all three committees.
WHO: DiGirolamo; Deb Beck, president of the Drug and Alcohol Service Providers Organization of Pennsylvania; Gary Tennis, former secretary, DDAP; and Carmen Capozzi from Westmoreland County, a father who lost his son to drug addiction.
