HARRISBURG – Rep. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne) this week was assigned to serve on the House Aging and Older Adult Services, Children and Youth, and Commerce Committees.
“I am grateful to serve on these wide-ranging and important committees,” said Fritz. “A great deal of the significant legislative work happens at the committee level, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to collaborate with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle on bills that will help move Pennsylvania forward.”
Fritz will bring years of experience in local government to his committee assignments, and has expertise in working with state and county level groups on child protection, aging and human service issues. His substantial private sector business experience will serve him well in Commerce Committee deliberations.
The House Aging and Older Adult Services Committee is responsible for all programs and services available pursuant to the State Lottery Law, long-term care, Office of Long-Term Living issues, Area Agencies on Aging, Department of Aging, Pennsylvania Council on Aging, and Intra-Governmental Council on Long-Term Care.
The House Children and Youth Committee studies adoption and child protection issues, along with child day care services, infant/child/mother health issues, juvenile delinquency, and adolescent and teen problems. It played an integral role in previous sessions to update the state’s child protection laws and continues to monitor those laws to make any necessary updates.
The Commerce Committee is responsible for originating legislation and overseeing implementation of programs which affect Pennsylvania companies.
