HARRISBURG – Rep. Cris Dush (R-Jefferson/Indiana) has been appointed to serve on the following the House committees during the 2017-18 legislative session: Aging and Older Adult Services, Human Services, Labor and Industry, and State Government.
“I am very pleased with each of my committee assignments and very eager to once again address the issues that affect our seniors, our employers, our workers and, on an even larger scale, the way Commonwealth government serves and protects the best interests of the people of Pennsylvania,” said Dush. “Most importantly, I will have the opportunity to advocate for some of the most important public policy concerns directly impacting the residents of the 66th Legislative District.”
The House Aging and Older Adult Services Committee deals with issues and programs targeted to the over 60 population, long-term care and the Pennsylvania Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program.
The House Human Services Committee has oversight of issues within the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs and the Department of Human Services.
The House Labor and Industry Committee focuses on legislation that helps shape Pennsylvania’s business climate and laws governing Pennsylvania’s work force, including workers’ compensation and unemployment compensation reforms.
The House State Government Committee maintains legislative jurisdiction over a broad range of issues and convenes hearings regularly to consider bills regarding constitutional amendments, pension reform, elections, land conveyances and public official and employee ethics standards.
