MARSHALL TOWNSHIP, Allegheny County – Speaker of the House Rep. Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) commented today about the appointment by Attorney General-elect Josh Shapiro of former Rep. Mike Vereb (R-Montgomery) to his executive staff.
Shapiro named Vereb director of government affairs, a position he will take up after Shapiro is sworn in on Tuesday.
“Mike Vereb is an excellent choice to be in the attorney general’s office, as he brings some tremendous personal experience in state government and law enforcement,” Turzai said. “With all of his positive relationships, he will surely be an asset to the office as soon-to-be Attorney General Shapiro works to rebuild the public’s trust in the office.”
Vereb is a former Republican member of the Pennsylvania House. Vereb served five terms representing Montgomery County’s 150th District, and formerly served as a police officer in West Conshohocken and in corporate security for the Comcast Corporation.
