Joined by family, Rep. Frank Ryan (R-Lebanon) today took the oath of office to represent the people of the 101st District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. |
HARRISBURG – Joined by family, friends and supporters, State Rep. Frank Ryan (R-Lebanon) was officially sworn into office today at the state Capitol to begin his first term in the General Assembly serving the people of the 101st Legislative District.
“I take very seriously the oath I took today with my colleagues to uphold the constitutions of Pennsylvania and the United States,” Ryan said. “As a Marine, I have taken such an oath before and the people of the 101st District can be assured that when the choice is between political expediency versus honoring our state’s and nation’s guiding documents, I will always choose the latter.”

A retired Marine Reserve colonel, Ryan was recalled to active duty in December 2004 and served with Multi-National Force-Iraq until June 2005. Prior to his initial retirement in 2002, Ryan served as the Central Command Special Operations Officer during Operation Enduring Freedom. In civilian life, Ryan is a strong fiscal conservative and an expert in corporate restructurings and management. His book called “Revolutionizing Accounting for Decision Making” was published in 2016.
Ryan believes strongly in volunteerism and public service. Leading by example, he has served on numerous boards of directors of public and nonprofit charitable organizations including chairman of the Board of Directors of Good Shepherd Services, chairman of the Audit Committee of the Institute of World Politics and chairman of the Audit Committee for the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
“Excessive taxation and overregulation by non-elected bureaucrats are themes I constantly heard from people when knocking on doors seeking their support,” Ryan said. “Very few people disagree with their tax dollars being used to help those who are truly in need, or fixing our roads and infrastructure, but this cradle-to-grave nanny state that has been pushed down our throats by governing elites without popular support must end.”
