HARRISBURG
– Rep. Harry Lewis (R-Chester) today began his second term in the House of Representatives on behalf of the 74th Legislative District in Chester County.

“Now more than ever, I know that effectively working on behalf of the residents of the 74th District requires a true bipartisan spirit from all,” Lewis said. “Even when faced with challenges – especially the unique ones associated with passing a state budget – I will continue to conduct myself in a way that fosters collaboration.”

The House returns to voting session on Jan. 23. Lewis has not yet been assigned to the committees on which he’ll serve, but will announce that information when it is available. Last session, he served on the House Children and Youth, Education, Health and Urban Affairs committees.

“During my last term, I was honored to collaborate with a number of groups and individuals to earn grants that will be used to offset the costs of revitalizing areas of the district. Breathing life back into communities that have been struggling and again attracting businesses is a critical mission – one I am eager to continue,” Lewis said.

Lewis secured a $5 million grant through the Commonwealth’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) to offset the costs of a mixed-use redevelopment project. The project will create 215 construction jobs and 90 new, permanent jobs. An additional grant for $900,000 was awarded for the redevelopment project by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) through the state Multimodal Transportation Fund Program.
