Rep. Warren Kampf takes the oath of office for the 2017-18 House session. |
HARRISBURG--Rep. Warren Kampf (R-Chester/Montgomery) was sworn in today to his fourth term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives to serve the people of the 157th District.
“I want to thank the residents of Montgomery and Chester counties for putting their trust in me to represent their concerns in Harrisburg,” Kampf said. “I remain committed to reaching across the aisle and concentrating on the issues of most importance to our community, including job growth, strong schools and fiscal discipline in government.”
During his short time in Harrisburg, Kampf has become known as a pragmatic legislator focused on issues dealing with the long-term economic and fiscal health of the Commonwealth.
“As a legislator, someone who comes from the private sector, and the father of two young children in public schools, I understand how a strong education system has a positive effect on the economy of our state,” Kampf said. “That is why I have continually supported state education funding increases.”
During his tenure, Kampf was a key sponsor of legislation to rescue the state’s unsustainable defined benefit pension plans.
“We must create a defined contribution plan for new hires to help stabilize long-term state and school district budgets and expenses,” he said.
Kampf has also supported smart tax reforms, sponsored legislation to reduce costs for businesses dealing with state government, and is on the forefront of the fight to encourage greater investment in the bio-technology industry that provides so many jobs to southeastern Pennsylvania families.
