WHAT: Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) will tour Pinnacle Treatment Center’s State College facility and participate in a roundtable discussion on opioid abuse, medically assisted treatment and the needs of the surrounding community. Pinnacle Treatment Centers invited Benninghoff to discuss the challenges facing the facility, as well as its successes in combatting addiction.
Benninghoff, who is chairman of the House Majority Policy Committee, recently concluded a series of statewide hearings on opioid abuse to learn more about the growing epidemic and how it is impacting communities in order to prepare legislative solutions for a special session on the topic.
WHO: The facility tour will be led by facility director Lisa McLain, BA, CADC. Roundtable participants will include treatment specialists, medical personnel and members of State College Medical’s leadership team.
