HARRISBURG – Rep. Kurt A. Masser (R-Columbia/Montour/Northumberland) was elected to serve as the House Republican Caucus administrator for the 2017-18 legislative session. On Tuesday, Nov. 15, Masser and his House colleagues voted for its leadership team for the upcoming session, which will officially begin on Dec. 1.
As caucus administrator, Masser will be responsible for managing many business affairs that specifically relate to the caucus.
“It is an honor to represent the 107th District in the House, and I am very excited to be serving as House Republican Caucus administrator in the upcoming session,” Masser said. “My family and I have owned and operated several businesses, and I have been familiar with the inner-workings of the businesses for most of my life. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the caucus in this role, and provide leadership in this capacity.”
In addition to Masser, the House Republican leadership team for the 2017-18 legislative session will include House Majority Leader David Reed (R-Indiana), Majority Whip Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster), Appropriations Chairman Stan Saylor (R-York), Policy Committee Chairman Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin), Caucus Chairwoman Marcy Toepel (R-Montgomery) and Caucus Secretary Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion/Armstrong/Forest). Rep. Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) was also nominated for Speaker of the House, which will be voted upon by the full House when it convenes session in January.
Masser has been representing the people of the 107th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives since late 2010.
