HARRISBURG – Rep. Jim Gregory (R-Blair)on Monday pledged to continue fighting to support businesses despite Gov. Tom Wolf’s veto of
Senate Bill 613, which would have reopened businesses that followed safety measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Gregory said he was disheartened by the veto and called it a snub to Pennsylvania’s workers.
“Pennsylvanians want to return to work safely and support their families,” he said. “History will show that in this crisis, my fellow Republican representatives and I stood for the people, and continued to fight for families regardless of Wolf’s veto.”
The legislature is considering several measures to try to reopen businesses shuttered under Wolf’s order.
“After more than five weeks, this governor is finally showing some signs of opening some businesses because of the pressure the House and Senate have applied. I pray it is not too late for so many businesses and employees of those businesses of the 80th District and the Commonwealth,” Gregory said.
