WHAT: Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware), chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will hold a committee vote on two bills:

House Bill 1473 would allow only 50 percent of a veteran’s VA benefit/compensation to be counted as income for state benefit programs with income thresholds.
House Bill 2304 would change the name of the current “Pennsylvania Veterans Memorial Trust Fund” to the “Pennsylvania Veterans Monuments and Memorial Trust Fund,” thereby allowing the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs to provide grant funds to monuments and memorials for Pennsylvania’s veterans and military units.
