HARRISBURG — House State Government Committee Chairman Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler), is calling for PA Attorney General Kathleen Kane’s immediate resignation due to her conviction by a Montgomery County jury on Monday for perjury, false swearing, obstruction of justice, official oppression and criminal conspiracy.

Metcalfe, who has led the Legislative effort for Kane’s impeachment throughout the past three years, issued the following statement regarding the verdict:

“Ever since Kathleen Kane was sworn into office she has established a repeated pattern of misbehavior in office and abuse of power in a disgraceful attempt to place herself above the law. Yesterday, the law won and she will be held fully accountable for blatantly ignoring the Constitution and the rule of law.

“Convicted Kathleen Kane must be removed from office through the impeachment process if she does not resign!”
