HARRISBURG - Having been re-elected to serve the 87th District in November, Rep. Greg Rothman (R-Cumberland) was appointed to a seat on the House Appropriations Committee for the 2021-22 Legislative Session of the General Assembly.
“I am pleased to have been appointed to the Appropriations Committee, which is directly responsible for addressing major issues that impact taxpayers and job creators,” said Rothman. “I am looking forward to state budget hearings and negotiations where I will continue to stand up for frugal governance and policies that will defend the taxpayers and workers of Pennsylvania.”
The House Appropriations Committee is one of the most influential committees in the General Assembly. The committee is primarily tasked with drafting an annual balanced budget proposal that allocates funds to public schools and state universities, and most other state agencies and departments for state government operations on an annual basis. The committee is also charged with reviewing all legislation to analyze the fiscal impact any legislative proposal may have on Commonwealth funds.
This will be the second legislative session Rothman has served on the committee since being elected in 2015.
The 2021-22 Legislative Session gets underway Tuesday, Jan. 5, when members are sworn into office. Representatives next return to Harrisburg on Jan. 11.
