HARRISBURG – Rep. Matthew Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) issued the following statement in response to Gov. Tom Wolf’s budget proposal outlined in a pre-recorded video message to the General Assembly on Wednesday:
“The big, bad Wolf has just unveiled another big, bad budget. A 7.4% increase in spending. A 46% increase in the Personal Income Tax on families and small employers. Another tax on the natural gas industry. And billions in new borrowing to saddle our kids and future generations with loads of debt.
“This is not the type of leadership we need to help Pennsylvanians recover from the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
“The General Assembly is focused on working to involve the National Guard in COVID-19 vaccine delivery and administration in every county. We are working to end the endless emergency declarations by the governor. And we are working to help small businesses keep their doors open and their staff employed.”
