HARRISBURG – Rep. Chris Quinn (R-Delaware) issued the following statement on Gov. Tom Wolf’s proposed 2021-22 Fiscal Year budget:
“I share the governor’s concern for education funding and job creation, but in the midst of an unprecedented economic disaster his proposal of the largest tax increase in state history is farcical. Too many of our citizens are still unemployed or underemployed due, in large part, to the governor’s own draconian and capricious restrictions. To say I am disappointed by this proposal is a gross understatement.
“It is difficult to conceive of a more inopportune time to propose further burdening Pennsylvanians with the biggest tax increase in state history. The governor’s proposal is a non-starter for me as I know it is with my constituents. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I’ll work with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle and the governor to craft a realistic budget that responsibly funds our priorities and fosters job growth and economic recovery for all Pennsylvanians.”
