HARRISBURG – After voting today in Harrisburg against the state budget approved by the House, Rep. Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) issued the following statement:
“I voted against the excessive 5 percent spending increase in the new budget.
“Higher spending results in higher taxes. High taxes are chasing companies, jobs and people away from Pennsylvania. State government spending is completely out of control and this budget makes the situation even worse.
“This budget spends money that isn’t even there. The budget relies on tax increases that have not yet been approved. The state does not know for sure how much revenue will be generated through expanded gambling, wine sales in grocery stores and higher tobacco taxes.”
