HARRISBURG – Rep. Mauree Gingrich (R-Lebanon) voted tonight to approve a $31.55 billion state budget for the 2016-17 fiscal year, which begins July 1.

“I was pleased to see the bipartisan support for this budget,” said Gingrich. “Senate Bill 1073 controls state spending and represents a job well done. The budget does not raise the state sales tax or the personal income tax. Yet, it provides $245 million more for basic education, special education and Pre-k Counts, as well as human services, including programs benefitting those with intellectual disabilities and opioid addiction.”

The measure, which passed the House by a vote of 132-68, now goes to the Senate for concurrence.
