HARRISBURG – Rep. Robert Godshall (R-Montgomery) expressed relief upon learning that Gov. Tom Wolf will not veto the supplemental budget bill passed by the General Assembly last week. The governor announced this afternoon that he will permit House Bill 1801 to become law without his signature on Monday.

The bill restores the more than $6 billion budgeted for the 2015-16 fiscal year and previously vetoed by Wolf. The governor’s inaction on the supplemental funding plan means that funding will now be released to schools, institutions of higher education, agriculture research and extension programs, hospitals, trauma centers, child advocacy centers and others.

Godshall said that in all of his years as a state representative, he has never witnessed a budget situation like this one. To see Godshall’s remarks following the governor’s announcement, visit: https://youtu.be/QTWZCI1-AN8
