HARRISBURG – Rep. Kurt A. Masser (R-Columbia/Montour/Northumberland) voted in favor of the no-tax-increase state budget plan on Wednesday that invests more funding for all levels of education, while protecting communities and families across Pennsylvania.
“Overall, I’m very pleased to have voted for this responsible budget plan that increases funding for K-12 and pre-K education, addresses school security and the needs from within our EMS community; funds three classes of Pennsylvania State Police cadets; increases funding for Keystone Communities programs that continue the fight against blight; focuses on opioid abuse and Lyme disease prevention and treatment, all while keeping spending in check,” said Masser.
The budget spends $32.7 billion and represents a 1.7 percent increase over the current fiscal year budget, which is below the rate of inflation. This budget is the result of prudent spending, an improved economy and responsible policies.
