HARRISBURG – Rep. Jim Marshall (R-Beaver/Butler) issued the following statement after his affirmative vote on the 2018-19 state budget, which was sent to the Senate Wednesday:
“Our national economy and western Pennsylvania job growth, combined with fiscal responsibility in past state budgets, have allowed us to make the most of the tax dollars we have available while supporting core government functions, like education, veterans’ services and public safety programs.
“As a long-time advocate for community colleges, I helped to secure a 3 percent increase in funding this year. These institutions are instrumental in preparing our next generation of workers and continuing our regional job growth via innovative workforce development training.”
