HARRISBURG – House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) was recently presented with the Institute for Legislative Analysis’ (ILA) “Charlie Gerow Award: Defender of Limited Government.”

The award is based upon Cutler’s voting record in the Pennsylvania General Assembly and is a recognition of his consistent work in standing up for conservative and limited government principles.

“ILA’s analysis of Leader Cutler’s voting record shows he has consistently upheld the limited government principles of the U.S. Constitution while working to lead the Republican Caucus in combating government overreach and ensuring prosperity for all Pennsylvanians,” said ILA CEO Ryan McGowan. “As we have recently witnessed at the national level, leadership is never easy, and therefore we applaud Leader Cutler for his work and are proud to present him with ILA’s Defender of Limited Government Award.”

According to the Institute of Legislative Analysis, Cutler is one of the few members of Republican leadership from across the country to earn this award.

“I am extremely honored to receive the recognition of being a Defender of Limited Government,” Cutler said. “Being elected to any office where you must uphold the rights, freedoms and liberties of your neighbors is a tremendous responsibility. I have always believed, and do my best to prove, that the best way to make sure liberty is protected is by having a government that interferes with people’s lives as little as possible.”
