HARRISBURG – Rep. Stephenie Scialabba (R-Butler) announced that House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) appointed her to serve on the School Safety and Security Committee under the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
The 17-member committee within the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency was created as part of
Act 44 of 2018, a comprehensive school safety law that assesses how schools can be safer for students. Members serve four-year terms.
“I am humbled to be appointed to this position to serve the schools in our Commonwealth,” said Scialabba. “Safety and security while our kids are in school is at the forefront of any parent’s mind and should be our highest priority. I would like to thank Leader Cutler for showing his trust in me for this prestigious position. I am excited to get to work and make our schools safer.”
“Before being elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Rep. Scialabba took an active role and interest in the proper upbringing and well-being of Pennsylvania’s children,” said Cutler. “As an elected representative, she has shown an enthusiasm and passion for education issues and ensuring Pennsylvania’s children have a safe and properly directed learning environment. These attributes made Rep. Scialabba a natural fit for the School Safety and Security Committee, and I look forward to seeing her work on this important committee whose mission is to make our schools safer.”
