HARRISBURG – Rep. John Schlegel (R-Lebanon) released the following statement after
House Bill 1330 was passed by House Democrats this afternoon as a potential framework for the 2025-26 fiscal year budget:
“Today, House Democrats passed a proposal that is both fiscally irresponsible and not a genuine attempt at creating an agreed-to foundation for a budget that works for the taxpayers of Pennsylvania.
“This proposal does not include a financial sheet, which would show us the true impact of this potential budget. The House Democrat plan would also operate at a significant deficit, putting Pennsylvania’s fiscal future at risk.
“In the end, this is a proposal that still needs a lot of work and was not negotiated between the House and the Senate. I am ‘no’ on this proposal and hope that a plan that works for all Pennsylvanians will be on our desks soon.”
The House passed House Bill 1330 on a 105-to-97 vote and sent it to the Senate for the upper chamber’s consideration.
