HARRISBURG - State Rep. Jim Rigby (R-Cambria/Somerset) is partnering with Seniors for Safe Driving to offer two Mature Driver Improvement courses in the coming months.
“These events are very well attended and usually generate a waiting list, which is why we’ve already scheduled a second class,” said Rigby. “They are taught solely in a classroom setting and provide a good test of the rules of the road for anyone who may have lost confidence behind the wheel.”
The courses Rigby is co-hosting are scheduled as follows:
•
Tuesday, Aug. 12, Cresson Volunteer Fire Company, 223 Ashcroft Ave., Cresson (5-9 p.m.)
•
Monday, Sept. 15, Solomon Run Fire Hall, 176 Mt Airy Drive, Johnstown (Noon to 4 p.m.)
The PennDOT-approved course is designed for seniors aged 55 and older at a cost of $17. Completing the course will earn participants a minimum 5% discount on auto insurance premiums over a three-year period.
Anyone interested in registering for the course may do so by either calling 1-800-559-4880 or going online to
www.SeniorsForSafeDriving.com.
