WHAT: The House State Government Committee will hold a public hearing on legislation authored by State Rep. Stephen Bloom (R-Cumberland), which would end government-mandated contracts known as project labor agreements (PLAs) on taxpayer-funded projects.

PLAs discriminate against local construction workers by prohibiting non-union members from working on public construction jobs.

WHO: Bloom, House State Government Committee Chairman Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) and members of the committee. Testifiers will include: Mark Eckman, president, J.D. Eckman Inc.; Frank Sirianni president, Pennsylvania Building and Construction Trades Council; Hank Butler, executive director, Pennsylvania Council of General Contractors; Ross Myers, CEO, Allan Myers Inc.; and Keith Impink,
president, Westmoreland Electric.
