WHO: Pennsylvania House State Government Committee Chairman Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) will convene a voting meeting to once again consider legislation to reduce the size of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

WHAT: Sponsored by Rep. Jerry Knowles (R-Berks/Carbon/Schuylkill), House Bill 153 would amend the Pennsylvania Constitution to reduce the number of seats in the Pennsylvania House from 203 to 151.

If the measure passes the House and Senate this session, Pennsylvania voters will have the opportunity to make the final decision on an upcoming ballot referendum.

According to Article XI, Section 1, the question goes before Pennsylvania voters if identical language passes in two consecutive sessions of the General Assembly.
