HARRISBURG – Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Sullivan/Susquehanna) today voted in support of a new revenue plan that seeks to complete the 2017-18 budget process while not adding to the burden of Pennsylvania taxpayers and job creators. She released the following statement after tonight’s vote:
“This budget cycle has been extremely challenging, but throughout our discussions and negotiations, we have sought to put our people first. Our taxpayers have been burdened enough, and it just isn’t fair to continue asking them to foot the bill when millions of dollars are piling up in infrequently used state accounts. Reinvesting just some of that money into the General Fund will not impact any program or service, and will help ensure that we can balance our books going forward. I am hopeful the Senate and governor will see this plan as a viable path toward responsible governing.”
