WHAT: The House and Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs committees, chaired by Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) and Sen. Elder Vogel (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence), will hold a joint informational meeting to discuss the Chesapeake Bay Phase III Watershed Implementation Plan at Penn State’s Ag Progress Days.

WHO: Causer, Vogel and members of the committees, as well as the following presenters: Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Secretary Patrick McDonnell; Veronica Kasi, program manager for DEP’s Chesapeake Bay Program Office; and Agriculture Secretary Russell C. Redding. Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion including McDonnell, Kasi and Redding, as well as John Bell, senior counsel for the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau; Christian Herr, executive vice president of PennAg Industries; Brenda Shambaugh, executive director of the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts; Marel King, Pennsylvania director for the Chesapeake Bay Commission; and Matthew Royer, director of the Agriculture and Environment Center with Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences.

WHEN: Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 9:30 a.m.

WHERE: Russell E. Larson Ag Research Center, 2710 West Pine Grove Road, Pennsylvania Furnace, PA 16865. The meeting will be held in the theater at the College of Agricultural Sciences Exhibits Building.
