HARRISBURG – Joined by family, friends and supporters, State Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R-Centre/Clinton) was officially sworn into office today at the state Capitol to begin her first term in the General Assembly serving the people of the 76th Legislative District.
As the first-ever woman to represent the 76th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and only the second Republican to the hold seat since 1970, Borowicz reiterated her dedication to hitting the ground running as a newly elected state lawmaker.
“The mission of keeping my word to the people of the 76th Legislative District starts immediately,” said Borowicz. “Effectively and transparently governing on behalf of the people means eliminating wasteful spending, increasing funding for local schools and fighting to reduce taxes for families, seniors, farmers and job creators. The citizens who elected me to serve them deserve nothing less.”
As a mother, former fourth-grade teacher and pastor’s wife, Borowicz also described herself as “unashamedly pro-gun” and “unapologetically pro-life” with an absolute commitment to defending the original intent of our state and federal Constitutions and replacing establishment politics with solid conservative principles.
“There is still too much political correctness and unaccountable government intrusion infiltrating our daily lives,” said Borowicz. “As a long-time gun owner, I firmly believe that our God-given right to keep and bear firearms shall not be questioned or infringed upon by tragedy-exploiting, confiscatory and completely useless gun control mandates. Whether it’s supporting our honored veterans, opposing the spread of abortion on demand, defunding Planned Parenthood, preventing elder abuse or ensuring appropriate care for children with special needs, my decisions as a state lawmaker will always be firmly grounded on the side of protecting and preserving the sanctity of all human life.”
A graduate of Vanguard University and former president of a nonprofit organization, Stephanie lives in McElhattan with her husband, Jason, and their three sons, Braden, Jacob and Micah.
