Gaydos, Benham to Discuss Legislation to Protect Pharmacies, Residents Who Depend on Prescription Drugs

WHAT: Reps. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) and Jessica Benham (D-Allegheny) will hold a press conference to discuss House Bill 1993, bipartisan legislation that would direct the Pennsylvania Insurance Department to develop a process for hearing and resolving pharmacy complaints against a Pennsylvania Benefit Manager (PBM). The bill they have introduced would also limit or ban several practices by PBMs, including patient steering, spread pricing and retroactive recoupment of money paid by the PBM to the pharmacy.

Grimm Krupa Introduces Resolution Banning House Members with Active Arrest Warrants from Remote Voting

HARRISBURG – Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa (R-Fayette) said Wednesday she is circulating a co-sponsorship memo for legislation that would amend the House General Operating Rules to prohibit a House member from voting remotely if he or she is incarcerated or if there is an active warrant for their arrest. This comes after House Democrats pushed through a party-line vote allowing Rep. Kevin Boyle (D-Philadelphia) to vote by designation because he has filed a form, even though there is a warrant out for his arrest.

House Approves Mako Motorcycle Bill to Allow Headphones

Barton Amendment to Increase Campaign Finance Transparency Approved

HARRISBURG - Rep. Jamie Barton (R-Berks/Schuylkill) announced today a House bill requiring candidates for the General Assembly to file a sixth Tuesday pre-election campaign expense report, which includes an amendment from Barton, has passed the House. Barton’s amendment, which passed unanimously, would increase campaign finance transparency by requiring campaigns and campaign organization to itemize reimbursements on campaign finance reports.
