House Passes Toohil’s Adoption Reform Legislation

Legislative Audit Advisory Commission to Release 2016 Audit

Mark Keller (R-Perry/Cumberland), chairman of the Legislative Audit Advisory Commission (LAAC), and other LAAC members will meet to review and accept the audit of the Pennsylvania General Assembly for 2016. The commission consists of eight members, including a majority and a minority member of the House of Representatives and two public members appointed by the House Speaker; and a majority and a minority member of the Senate and two public members appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate.

House Passes Simmons’ Student Health and Safety Bill

HARRISBURG – Legislation sponsored by Rep. Committee to Examine Issue of Day, Work Choices for Individuals with Disabilities

WHAT: The House Human Services Committee, chaired by Rep. Gene DiGirolamo (R-Bucks), will hold a public hearing on a recent requirement that would significantly reduce the amount of time that a person with disabilities could spend in a day center or sheltered workshop under the Office of Developmental Programs. The hearing will include testimony of those affected, along with a potential compromise worked out between lawmakers and officials with the Department of Human Services.
