House Passes Greiner Bill to Relieve County Governments of Costly Mandates

HARRISBURG – The House of Representatives today passed legislation sponsored by Rep. Keith J. Greiner (R-Upper Leacock) that would remove the requirement that any cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) be made retroactive to the last COLA. By removing this mandate, House Bill 239 aims to protect taxpayers from excessive tax increases and reinforce local control of county pension boards.

One week later, on April 21, his nine-car funeral train steamed out of Washington, D.C., stopping in the Pennsylvania cities of York, Harrisburg and Philadelphia, for what became one of most historic train journeys in American history. Lincoln’s open coffin was placed in state at the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the evening of April 21 through the morning of April 22.

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania House State Government Committee on Tuesday in Harrisburg approved legislation introduced by state Rep. Barry Jozwiak (R-Berks) that would require Commonwealth agencies and the General Assembly to purchase only American and Pennsylvania flags that are manufactured in the United States.
