Gaydos, Kinkead Introduce Legislation to Provide Assistance for Landslide-Prone Victims

Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) and Emily Kinkead (D-Allegheny) introduced legislation to create a new insurance program for homeowners living in landslide-prone areas, as well as assistance to local governments that wish to mitigate the risk of landslides within their communities.

Klunk Bill to Protect Children and Youth Agencies Passes State Senate

HARRISBURG – The Senate on Wednesday passed a bill authored by Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) to protect private children and youth social service agencies and residential treatment providers. The legislation would accomplish this by voiding certain indemnification clauses when these agencies renew their professional liability policies.

Delozier Bill Updating Uniform Construction Code Goes to the Governor’s Desk

HARRISBURG – Legislation authored by state Rep. Sheryl M. Delozier (R-Cumberland) that would allow refrigerants in the Commonwealth to be listed as acceptable alternatives to hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) under the federal Clean Air Act is headed to Gov. Tom Wolf’s desk for his signature. House Bill 2079 will resolve a conflict between the technical side of the Uniform Construction Code (UCC) in Pennsylvania and the federal law regarding the Environmental Protection Agency’s required refrigerants.
