Rep. Rothman Joins Members of the Automated Vehicle Coalition to Mark Inauguration of a New Autonomous Vehicle Law

Nov. 20, 2018  Download

Members of the Automated Vehicle Coalition joined Tuesday in Harrisburg to praise a new law governing the future use of autonomous vehicles on Pennsylvania highways. The legislation sponsored by state Rep. Greg Rothman (R-Cumberland), would enable the use of highly automated vehicles in construction or work zones designated by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and would also empower motor carrier and military vehicles to travel in platoons without fear of being cited with a traffic violation. Rothman said the new law will enable automated vehicles to play an expanded role in highway construction industry and will ensure that Pennsylvania continues to be a leader in the implementation of this new technology.

Rep. Phillips-Hill Comments on Audit Report of the Susquehanna River Basin Commission

Nov. 08, 2018  Download

The results of a performance audit on the spending of the Susquehanna River Basin Commission was released this week by PA Auditor General Gene DePasquale, and the report indicates that the management of the federal interstate compact has engaged in a pattern of irresponsible use of public funds. At a news conference Thursday in Harrisburg, Rep. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) said she was directly involved in requesting this audit and believes the results indicate a need for increased oversight as well as leadership change at the independent regulatory agency.
